How to Create a New Archive?
Inside Windows Explorer, select the files and folders you want to put inside the archive. Then right-click on the selection. From the Alpha-Zip menu notice:
- Compress...
A dialog window is opened and you will have to provide the following information:
Archive Name - type in the path and a name for the new archive (use the browse button to select the path). By default the archive name is the name of the current folder, and the path is the current path.
Archive Type - from the drop-down box choose the type for the new archive: BH, CAB, JAR, LHA, LHZ, or ZIP.
Options - check the options you want for the new archive:
- Create SFX archive - a self extracting archive will be created
- Password - the archive will be password protected (type in the password)
After filling all these information click Start button to create the archive

If you select this item a submenu is displayed listing the filename.extension possible for your archive: the filename will be identical with the name of the current folder and the extensions can be: .BH, .CAB, .JAR, .LHA, .LHZ, .ZIP
This way the archive will be created in the current folder.
- Compress and email
A dialog window is opened and you will have to provide the following information:

After filling all these information click Start button to create the archive. After the archive is created your default email client is opened to send the archive by email.
