How to Extract Files from an Archive?
Using Alpha ZIP you can easily extract files from any archive. Select the archive and right-click on it. In the Alpha ZIP menu you can see the following options:
- Extract...
The Extract window is displayed and you will have to provide the following information:
Extract to... - fill in or select the location where you want the files to be extracted to.
Files - choose which files you want to extract: selected files or all files (if you are inside an archive and you have some selected files).
Options - select the options you want to apply when files are extracted:
- Overwrite existing files - if checked while extracting the files, already existing files will be overwritten.
- Use folder names
- Open destination folder - if checked, after extracting the files, the destination folder is opened.
- Extract here
The files from your archive will be extracted in the current location.
- Extract to 'path'
The path is the current path of the zip + the folder having he same name as the archive. If your archive has the path: C:\Test\ and your archive is myArchive.zip, then the path displayed in Extract to 'path' will be: C:\Test\myArchive. In the current folder will be created a new folder with the same name as the archive. The extracted files will be placed in this folder.
